Intel Sponsored HPC Cluster
Intel Inc. sponsored HPC system! It is VXR048 made by VXTech of Ciara Technologies. The system has 48 (VXblade) nodes (VXB-7520J with EMT 64T Intel-Itanium 2 Xeon). Each node has duel core, 64-bit, EMT Xeon porcessor (3.4 GHz, 4GB memory, 100GB storage). The total has 96 processors. Each node PCI Express, duel ininiBand HCA-SLB-24 ports and duel enthenet ports.
The system has two interconnections:
(1) Voltaire ISR 9096 10Gbps InfinBand Grid Director/Switch Router with 72 ports.
(2) SMC 1Gbps ethanet Swith with 48 ports. The aggregate peak performance is 3.264 Teraflops/s. The aggregate is 192 GB memory, and 4.8TB storage capacity.
The system was engineered and delivered by VXTech, a division of Ciaratech.
Microway Linux Cluster
Microway LINUX cluster system. It has 16 nodes. Each node has duel 64 bit, AMD Opteron processors. Each processor has 2.2GHz. Each node has 2GB. The master node has 16x256 GB=4TB and other 15 nodes has 256 GB.
Max. Peak performance is 64.4Gflop/s/ The aggrrated memory is 32GB and aggregate storage is about 8TB. The interconnection is Netgear-1Gbts Ethernet switch.

Radiology HPC Laboratory for Medical Imaging
Microway LINUX cluster with 32nodes 64-bit processors (each has 2.2GHz, 1GB Memory) and the system has 10 TB storage
IIHR: This group has a 128 processor linux cluster
Statistics Cluster This department has a 16 processor linux clustser
Public Health : This lab has a 48 processor linux cluster.
HAWK Grid
Hawk Grid is a grid connecting a growing number of clusters around the University of Iowa campus. Currently Hawk Grid has 60 nodes in three different buildings. Hawk Grid is part of the GROW project
Servers
Tomcat server: This is a web server for Java/JSP pages written to support research and instructional efforts on campus.
Bioinformatics/SAS server: This server runs the SAS statistical software and the Wisconsin Package, a suite of sequence analysis tools. Click here to apply for an account system.
LAMP server: This is a linux/apache/mysql/php server for hosting web applicatoins for research and instruction projects.
Eluminate server: This server runs the Eluminate Virtual Meeting software. This software is ideal for on-line conferences and sharing of applications.
Video Conferencing:
H323
Two Polycom Viewstations are available for use at ITS and is currently located in the Lindquist Center. However, sometime during the Fall 2007 semester this system will move to a conference room in the core facility at the University Capitol Centre.
Additionally, we now have a high definition videoconferencing unit on a mobile cart with a flat panel high definition video display. The unit is from LifeSize, <http://www.lifesize.com>. This unit definitely has applications in the Health Sciences.
