Grid Computing

A Grid is a hardware and software infrastructure that provides dependable, consistent, and pervasive access to resources to enable sharing of computational resources, utility computing, autonomic computing, collaboration among virtual organizations, and distributed data processing, among others (Wolfgang Gentzsch, 2002)

Research and Development of Grids

Since 2002, AT Research Services has been conducting research and development on computational grids. We have participated in several local, national, and international grid projects and are developing grid-based applications. This is an important area of research and services for us (see GROW for more information).

GROW

GROW (Grid Research and educatiOn group @ IoWa) involves several researchers with grid-based projects from several academic units throughout campus. GROW is led by AT Research Services staff member, Dr. Jun Ni.
