What is NExTT?
NExTT stands for "New Experiences with Teaching Technology." This week-long series of workshops is held in January and July/August for instructors and instructional support staff. Participants can choose to register for only those sessions they wish to attend.
The philosophy behind the workshop
Sessions are created and presented with the philosophy that you will get more out of them if you have more hands-on time to work at your own pace, in your own direction and in an environment where one-on-one assistance is mere seconds away. We create documentation that leads you through many common tasks and exercises. If you get stuck, one of the many coaches can assist. We try to avoid a "follow along with the instructor" presentation.
What should you bring?
We encourage you to bring your own digital materials, but we will also provide sample files to use. If you wish to work on an exisiting course web site, make sure you bring the access information for that course site (i.e. username and password), but we provide practice sites, also.
Registering for the workshops
Registration can be done online. Spaces for the workshop are filled on a "first come, first serve" basis. We make every attempt to get everyone into a their desired sessions, but our spaces are limited. We ask that you let us know if you cannot attend a session for which you signed up so that it is available for someone else.
