Media Studio
Hands-On ExperienceMedia applications can be complex and difficult to learn - and usually the manuals aren't written for a beginner. That's where the Media Studio can help out. A state-of-the-art facilty, the Media Studio is an environment where faculty and staff can work on their digital media projects, but also have an expert staff to help them with not only the hardware/software, but also planning their entire project. |

The Technology
Faculty and staff around campus come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and often use different technologies. The Media Studio tries to offer as much to everyone, as we can. We have both Mac and Windows machines - so people can learn and work on a system that they're comfortable with. We also help with a wide variety of software - everything from a free video editor you might have on your system, to an expensive program for making animated graphics. Here's a small sample of what we have:
- Video Editing, Advanced: Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere
- Video Editing, Basic: iMovie, Windows Movie Maker
- DVD Authoring: DVD Studio Pro, Adobe Encore
- Motion Graphics: Adobe After Effects
- Digital Imaging for Video: Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
The Formats
Like the software, we want you to be able to work with as many formats as possible. So, if you walk in with a VHS tape, you can leave with a DVD, a CD, or any format we support:
- DV format: miniDV, DVCam, HDV
- DVD
- Web Video: all formats - QuickTime, Windows Media, Flash)
- VHS: standard and S-VHS
- CD-ROM
- Laserdisc
