Wikis - pilot service Jump to top of page

A Wiki enables documents to be authored collectively in a simple markup language using a web browser. This enables participants to work together on web pages to add, expand and change the content. It is the speed and ease of creating and updating pages that is one of the defining aspects of wiki technology. Generally, there is no prior review before modifications are accepted.

For more information, please visit the
UI Wiki web site.

The current wiki service pilot aims to explore the use of wikis as a collaboration tool. Exploration steps include a review of existing wiki use on campus, evaluation of available wiki software, a small pilot, and a campus needs assessment. The project will end with a report recommending whether ITS should offer a campus-wide wiki service. The service pilot will run through Fall semester, 2007.
